Going into holiday mode over Christmas? Your clients aren’t.

Summer has officially hit NZ and pretty soon we’ll all be putting our Out Of Office on and business will come to a grinding halt. And yet, as you’re working on your tan your clients are glued to their phones, soaking in your competitors’ advertising…

Today marks the official first day of summer. It comes as we’re in the depths of the silly season and like most people you’re probably frantically trying to tie off loose ends before the end of the year while navigating the Christmas party gauntlet.

Any of the big business plans you had are now getting put on the back burner and into the 2018 basket. Whatever marketing spend you have left is getting put into next year as this isn’t a good time to launch any new campaigns. While that’s understandable it’s worth noting that the time we Kiwis spend on our mobiles is set to absolutely skyrocket over the Christmas break.

Kiwis glued to their phones over summer

Newshub. ran an article in January this year stating that over the Christmas break last summer, data consumption for New Zealand Vodafone users was up a whopping 72%.

The article concluded: “It seems many of the telco's phone users were more interested in having a virtual holiday than connecting with the environment and people around them.”

Social media advertising is a particularly cost effective way of getting to your desired audience.

One in every five minutes on a mobile phone is spent on Facebook and Instagram so there’s a real opportunity to get your message in front of people during the summer period – a time when people are relaxed and in a good frame of mind.

Mobile phone use continues to increase to a point where:

  • 56.5% of Facebook users ONLY login from a mobile device
  • 88% of Facebook advertising revenue comes from mobile ads

You don’t need to spend much

Advertising on the likes of Facebook and Instagram doesn’t need to cost the earth. For as little as a $500 a month ad spend you can get some serious runs on the board:

  • Increase website traffic
  • Generate new leads
  • Build stronger relationships with your audience
  • Remarket to people who already know you
  • Reach new people
  • Increase your following
  • Content calendars
  • Organic growth strategy
  • Ad campaign creation and management
  • Lead generation
  • Audience creation and defined targeting
  • Full social media management incl. responding to comments, messages, enquiries

All of with a clear ROI.

Facebook’s transparent reporting mechanisms allow you to see exactly what you’re getting in return for every dollar you spend.
